Biochar Projects
Biochar is a stable, carbon rich form of charcoal produced from thermal decomposition of biomass in an oxygen limited environment. Biochar can effectively store carbon for extended periods and is the most accessible, scale ready Carbon Dioxide Removal Solution. Agricultural biomass, which otherwise would have decomposed or been burnt, is used as feedstock for producing Biochar. The carbon thus captured in the form of Biochar during the conversion process, helps generate carbon credits. The produced Biochar is used as a soil amendment, which increases moisture and nutrient retention capabilities of soil and also avoids usage of inorganic fertilizer.
